Shakib Al Hasan the captain of Bangladesh

The opening Test of a two-match series between Bangladesh and New Zealand is being prepared for Tuesday, November 28, at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The game is expected to start at 9:00 AM IST. Shakib Al Hasan, the regular captain of the Bangladesh cricket team, will be replaced by Najmul Hossain Shanto.

Bangladesh, captained by Najmul Hossain Shanto, will have a youthful team with noteworthy absences such as Litton Das, Tamim Iqbal, and Shakib Al Hasan, in addition to Taskin Ahmed’s injury. Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Taijul Islam are among the team’s more seasoned players;

Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Shahadat Hossain Dipu, two recent additions, provide potential. Tim Southee is leading New Zealand, who have a fully-fit squad. The Kiwis are expected to perform well thanks to players like Rachin Ravindra, who is in excellent form, Kyle Jamieson, Matt Henry, and Daryl Mitchell’s batting abilities.

Bangladesh will start the two-match Test series with home advantage as the underdogs against the 2021 World Test winners, but an upset is not completely out of the question. Now that the ODI World Cup is over, attention will turn to Bangladesh and New Zealand’s two-match Test cricket series, which begins on November 28 (Tuesday).

Under Shakib Al Hasan’s leadership, the Tigers had one of their worst-ever tournament performances, but the visitors advanced to the semifinals before falling to India and losing out. However, it is the time for both teams to focus on starting their WTC campaigns strong. The Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, which has only held one Test thus far, will host the first match.

It was precisely six years ago in November 2018, when Bangladesh fell to Zimbabwe by 151 runs. Due to a finger injury, Shakib is out of the lineup for the Tigers, while vice captain Litton Das is also out of the lineup for this series. As a result, the Tigers will be led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, their 13th Test captain.

Even though they haven’t defeated New Zealand in a Test match played in front of their supporters, they are by no means a minnow, especially while playing at home. It’s interesting to note that the previous time Bangladesh visited New Zealand, they defeated them by eight wickets on the road.

However, the BlackCaps have a great head-to-head record, having won 13 of the 17 Test matches played and only losing 1. First Test: Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet, November 28–December 2, 9 AM IST.

The following players represent New Zealand: Kyle Jamieson, Matt Henry, Will Young, Ish Sodhi, Glenn Phillips, Tom Blundell, Henry Nicholls, Kane Williamson, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (wk), Mitchell Santner, Ajaz Patel, Tim Southee (c). The live streaming of the BAN vs. NZ Test series will be accessible on Fancode, but live telecasting is not available in India.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, Khaled Ahmed, Shahadat Hossain, Hasan Murad, Naeem Hasan, and Zakir Hasan are the members of the Bangladesh squad: Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Nurul Hasan (wk), Najmul Hossain Shanto (c).
