Al Nassr defeated Al-Akhdoud 3-0
Al Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team, defeated Al-Akhdoud 3-0 at home on Friday to move up to second place in the domestic standings. After Sami Al-Najei’s early goal, a double from Cristiano Ronaldo earned Al Nassr the victory over struggling Al-Akhdoud. Ronaldo did a great job bringing the ball down with his first touch before scoring his first goal with a blast from inside the area.
But the goal that really grabbed attention was his second of the evening, a looping strike from long range after he spotted the goalkeeper well outside of his mark. Cristiano Ronaldo scored perhaps his best goal at Al Nasr, rolling back the years with a 40-yard lob against Al Akhdaoud on Saturday in the Saudi Pro League.
At the moment, Al Nasr is in second place, one point behind leaders Al Hilal. In the thirteenth minute, Sami Al Najei gave Al Nassr the lead. Just as it appeared to be the game’s only goal, Cristiano Ronaldo performed flawlessly. The second goal of the contest was scored by the Portuguese superstar using a deft touch.
After three minutes, Paulo Vitor, the goaltender for Al Akhdoud, attempted to clear the ball, but Ronaldo was there to grab it. The 38-year-old attempted a chest pass on the ball before making a 40-yard chip. To everyone’s surprise, the ball sank in even though it appeared as like it would go over the bat.
With Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing at an incredible level this season. This season, he has scored eighteen goals in just as many games, making him the highest goal scorer in first division history. Currently, he has 527 goals in the Saudi Pro League, English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and Liga Portugal, among other leagues.
With this decisive victory, Al Nassr now has 34 points from 14 games played this season. The Knights of Najd have won 11 games, drawn one, and lost a few others. With the double, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner increased his season goal total to 15 and also took the lead in the goal scorers rankings.
Alexandar Mitrovic, who has ten goals this campaign, is ranked second in the table. Following his contentious departure from Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Saudi team. A number of well-known players, including Sadio Mane, Riyadh Mahrez, and Roberto Firmino, have since relocated to the Middle Eastern country. Al-Akhdoud, on the other hand, are having difficulty at the opposite end of the table, with just 10 points from 14 games, placing them 16th out of the 18-team league.
Since the start of the season, they have only managed three victories and one tie, dropping as many as ten games. On Monday, Al Nassr will play Iranian team Persepolis FC in the AFC Champions League. On December 1st, the team will travel to Al Hilal to play in the Saudi Pro League’s top division.
