The process of Telangana Election will end at 6 pm

In a state of heavy security, Telangana’s 119 assembly constituencies began voting on Thursday. The process of Telangana Election will end at 6 pm. 3,17 crore voters in the state will select 2,290 candidates from 109 national and regional parties, including 221 women and one transgender person. December 3 is when the votes will be tallied.

The Telangana Election Commission reports that up until nine in the morning, 8.52% of voters in the state cast ballots. In addition, 20.64 percent of polling was recorded until 11 a.m., and 36.68% was recorded until 1 p.m. On the basis of the party’s achievements and commitments made during the preceding 10 years, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is running for a third term.

The state’s first government would be formed with assistance from the Congress, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has pledged to put an end to the “misrule and corruption” of the BRS. Voting in all 119 assembly constituencies in Telangana began on Thursday under strict security protocols, marking the start of the state’s single-phase Telangana elections.

In 106 constituencies, voting would continue until 5 p.m., whereas in the 13 seats impacted by Left Wing Extremism (LWE), it would end at 4 p.m. In the Siddipet district’s Chinramadaka village, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his spouse, K Shobha, cast ballots.

Among the politicians who cast ballots in the early hours of voting were AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, union minister and state BJP president G Kishan Reddy, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao, his sister and MLC Kavitha, and others. A number of well-known actors, such as Jr. NTR, Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, and Allu Arjun, also participated in the Telangana election.

There have been reports of altercations between Congress, BJP, and ruling BRS activists from polling places in the cities of Jangaon and Khamman. By the time the cops arrived, no one was said to have been hurt. Later, when BRS Mathkal MLA Ramohan Reddy allegedly attempted to enter a polling place, there was also a reported altercation in the Narayanapert district between Congressmen and MLA Reddy.

The two seats that Chief Minister KCR is vying for are Kamareddy and Gajwel, where he was initially elected. In Gajewal, he is competing against BJP leader Etela Rajender; in Kamareddy, he is challenging Congress state unit chairman Revanth Reddy. Apart from taking on KCR, Revanth Reddy, the top Congress candidate from Kodangal, and the BJP leader from Huzurabad are the other two seats that Etela and Revanth Reddy are contesting.

One of the most talked-about seats is Korutla, where the BJP has put Lok Sabha member Arvind Dharmapuri up against BRS’s Kalvakuntla Sanjay and the Congress’s Narsinga Rao Juvvadi. Additionally, the BRS has scheduled Patlolla Sabitha Indra Reddy from Maheshwaram against Andela Sriramulu Yadav (BJP) and K Laxma Reddy (Congress).

The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded its Hindutva firebrand leader, T Raja Singh, from Goshamahal. His words against Prophet Muhammad sparked a stir, and last month, the party revoked his suspension after he responded to its show-cause notice. 3.26 crore people are eligible to vote in the state, consisting of 1,63,02,261 female and 1,63,13,268 male voters.

BJP Lok Sabha members Bandi Sanjay Kumar and D Arvind, state Congress president A Revanth Reddy, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, and his minister-son K T Rama Rao are among the 2,290 candidates vying for seats in the current Telangana elections. Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj informed news agency PTI that more than 2.5 lakh employees have been working poll duties for the assembly Telangana elections.

As part of the security measures for the Telangana election, about 77,000 security personnel—375 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and state police and Home Guards recruited from the state and neighboring states—have been stationed throughout the state. In Telangana, voters over 80 years old and those with impairments can now cast ballots from home for the first time.
