After a protracted fight with stage four stomach cancer, 8 December seasoned actor Junior Mehmood passed away. Junior Mehmood was 68 years old. Mehmood passed away at around two in the morning on December 8. He will be buried in the Juhu cemetery following Friday prayers, according to sources.

Junior Mehmood is survived by his wife and two sons. His real name was Naeem Sayyed. Later today, Sayyed is expected to be buried next to his mother in the Santacruz cemetery, according to close friend Salaam Kazi. The remains of Mohammed Rafi and Dilip Kumar are also kept in the graveyard.

Initially, the actor sought treatment for stomach issues from a local doctor, as shared by close friend Salaam Kazi. However, due to significant weight loss, his family shifted his case to Tata Memorial Hospital, where tests revealed he was battling liver and lung cancer alongside Tata Memorial Hospital, where tests revealed he had liver and lung cancer, along with a stomach tumor and jaundice.

Regarding his health, I’m in contact with both Johnny Lever and his son. God bless him. Junior Mehmood embarked on his acting journey as a child artist, debuting in films like Mohabbat Zindagi Hai (1966) and Naunihal (1967).

The legendary comic actor Mehmood bestowed the stage name ‘Junior Mehmood’ upon him during their collaboration on the 1968 film Suhag Raat. Over a career spanning more than forty years, Junior Mehmood showcased his talent in over 260 films across seven different languages. Some of his notable works included hits like Brahmachari, Kati Patang, and Hare Raama.

He left a mark with performances in Hare Krishna, Geet Gaata Chal, Imaandaar, Gurudev, Chhote Sarkar, Aaj Ka Arjun, Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri, and Judaai. Besides films, he also made appearances in television series such as Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka and Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara.

Jr. Mehmood’s friend Salam Kazi had mentioned earlier, ‘He was unwell for two months, and initially, we thought it might be a minor issue, but then he began losing weight. After reviewing the medical reports, it was found that the patient had tumors in the intestines, along with liver and lung cancer, as well as jaundice. The doctors confirmed it as stage four cancer.

Junior Mehmood has previously stated that he want to see renowned actors Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar while his health was quickly declining. Despite featuring in numerous films alongside Jeetendra, Sachin remains his childhood buddy. The two actors received the message immediately, and on Tuesday morning, December 5, they hurried to meet Junior. Sachin even enquired as to whether the late star might assist.

Actor Nakuul Mehta took to his social media handle on Saturday to pay heartfelt tribute to the late veteran actor Junior Mehmood, who recently passed away after bravely battling stage four cancer. Nakuul, who shared the screen with Junior Mehmood in the show Pyaar Ka Dard Hai, fondly reminisced about their time together.

Describing the veteran actor as his “greatest inspiration” and a “wonderful comic talent,” Nakuul revealed their special bond, where he referred to Mehmood as ‘Junior Sir,’ while the late actor affectionately called him ‘Adi Baba.’

In a touching tribute, Nakuul highlighted Junior Mehmood’s immense experience of 55 years in the industry, emphasizing how he effortlessly blended in with both seasoned actors and newcomers on the set, leaving an indelible mark with his talent and humility. Nakuul’s poignant words beautifully capture the profound impact and lasting legacy of the late actor.
