Samsung Gears Up for Its Most Expensive Foldable Yet
Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch its first-ever triple-folding smartphone, tentatively called the Samsung Z TriFold. Priced around ₹2.64 lakh, the device may surpass even some Royal Enfield motorcycles in cost. If launched, it will redefine the foldable smartphone market with its unique design and premium hardware, making it one of Samsung’s boldest innovations to date.
Wider Global Rollout Beyond Asia Expected
Earlier reports indicated that the Z TriFold would debut only in China and South Korea, but new insights from SamMobile suggest a much wider release. The device could arrive in UAE and other international markets soon. While there’s no official confirmation about an India launch, Samsung’s growing focus on the country’s premium smartphone segment keeps expectations high.
A New Form Factor: Samsung’s First TriFold Design
The Samsung Z TriFold is expected to feature a 10-inch OLED inner display that folds twice inward, offering a large-screen tablet experience when opened. Its 6.5-inch cover display will provide a regular smartphone feel when folded. Samsung aims to combine portability and productivity, targeting power users who need both a compact phone and a full-screen workspace in one device.
Flagship-Level Camera and Performance Power
Under the hood, the Z TriFold may run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, the same chip used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It could also boast a 200MP primary camera, along with ultrawide and telephoto lenses for professional-grade photography. Reports indicate the battery will be divided into three parts to optimize power distribution within its intricate folding mechanism.
Price and Launch Timeline: Premium Innovation Comes at a Cost
Leaks suggest that the Samsung Z TriFold could cost around $3,000 (₹2,64,000), positioning it above Huawei’s Mate XTs, which starts at ₹2.22 lakh. Initially expected in September, the launch may now occur by the end of this month. If true, Samsung is all set to unveil its most advanced and expensive foldable smartphone ever, pushing the boundaries of design and technology once again.
