Tata Sierra SUV Returns as Icon of Ultra-Modern Luxury Auto

The all-new Tata Sierra SUV will return in 2025 as a fast-paced and forward-thinking SUV available in both electric and turbo-petrol variants. Designed under Tata Motors’ “Mortal Experience” gospel, the new Sierra. EV blends futuristic design and technology with classic appeal.

The upcoming SUV focuses on connectivity, freedom and comfort – creating an emotional connection across generations and offering a truly ultra-luxury experience for families and adventure lovers.

Attractive Exterior with Modern Proportions

The Tata Sierra SUV exudes unwavering power with its broad shoulders, wide wheelbase and muscular stance. The all-new “Empowered White” finish highlights the sleek bodywork and sculpted shells, giving the SUV an elegant yet purposeful appeal.

A non-stop LED light bar runs up front, with a bold tulle and hand-crafted Tata design cues. At the rear, wraparound LED tail lights and a large tailgate create a futuristic yet functional look — a blend of ultra-modern sophistication with the Sierra’s strong heritage.

Premium cabin with Chesterfield-like comfort

Inside, Tata has prioritized space, light and tranquility. The airy cabin features a panoramic sunroof and hand glazing, which ices the bright and open terrain. Reclining rear seats, soft-touch shells and precisely curated ambient lighting enhance the air of business-class comfort.

The Sierra’s design gospel focuses on relaxation and usability over decor — making long drives regal and luxurious.

Triadic defense and slice-edge technology

The new Sierra’s cabin technology stands out with its triadic-screen layout — a digital instrument cluster, a large central infotainment touchscreen, and a dedicated co-passenger display.

Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, OTA updates, advanced AI voice control, and a haptic-feedback steering wheel with illuminated symbols enhance the experience. Other ultra-expensive touches include voiced seats and customizable ambient lighting for a future-ready interior.

Powertrain options and driving ranges

The Tata Sierra will be available in both ICE and EV variants.

The Sierra EV, built on Tata’s new Generation 2 EV armature, is expected to offer a real-world range of 450-500 km per charge.

The turbo-petrol model is likely to feature a 1.5-litre turbo engine from Tata, available with both manual and automatic transmissions.

All-wheel drive (AWD) is likely to make its debut on select high-end EV variants for unmatched grip and power.

Safety and ADAS a high-tech stronghold

Safety is a strong focus for Tata Motors. The Sierra will feature multiple airbags, ESC, hill-hold assist, a 360-degree camera system, eye-spot detection and smart safety assist.

The highlight will be Tata’s Level 2 ADAS suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and autonomous emergency braking – which transforms safe, smooth driving in both the track and megacity.

Launch timeline and expected price

Tata Motors is expected to unveil the Sierra SUV in late 2025, with official deliveries starting in early 2026. The internal combustion engine will hit the market first, followed by the electric variant.

Pricing is likely to be around ₹12 lakh (ex-showroom), which will put the Sierra above the Harrier and squarely compete with rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Revival of an Indian classic

By reviving the iconic Tata Sierra, Tata Motors is mixing nostalgia with new innovation. The new five-door SUV retains the original’s hothouse design while adding new proportions, smart connectivity and improved safety.

The Sierra 2025 is more than just a comeback – it’s a statement on Tata’s evolution into a global, design-led brand that focuses on sustainability, technology and emotion-driven mobility.
