Motorola rolls out Android 16 for Edge 60 and Edge 50 series

Motorola has officially rolled out the Motorola Android 16 update in India, starting with a few specific biases for the Motorola Edge 60 and Edge 50 series. The update is being rolled out in a phased manner, which includes the Edge 60 Pro, Edge 60 Fusion, and Edge 50 Pro. More Motorola smartphones will receive the update as part of a larger rollout strategy in the coming weeks.

New design and improved connectivity features

The new Android 16 update brings an upgraded interface, smoother feel, and improved design principles to Motorola smartphones. Key highlights include announcement bus-grouping, which helps organize alerts and reduce clutter. The update improves connectivity with Bluetooth LE audio bias, ensuring clear sound in noisy environments, and improves overall stability across networks and device connections.

Instant Hotspot and Cross-Device Connectivity

Motorola’s Android 16 update introduces Instant Hotspot, which allows users to seamlessly connect phones, tablets, and Chromebooks. Devices logged into the same Google account can now automatically connect to the hotspot without having to categorize them in a single word. This feature brings an ecosystem of connectivity similar to Apple’s iCloud-based Wi-Fi sharing, making Motorola bikes more connected and more engaging than ever.

Introducing ‘Modes’ for a Personal Experience

One of the new features of Android 16 on Motorola bikes is the new “Mode” feature. It allows users to act as a symbol of their phone’s movement
based on their activity – whether it’s working, driving, or sleeping. Each mode can manage announcements, audio bios, and app settings. The addition of advanced security enhances the device’s security, keeping your data safe when switching between modes.

Moto Secure 5.5 gets a major upgrade

Motorola’s Moto Secure 5.5 has been streamlined with Android 16. It now includes a secure power-off point that prevents the phone from shutting down if it’s stolen or lost. The streamlined Sequestration dashboard provides more control over warrants, while improved shadowing and security tools keep data more secure. This is one of the most important security advancements for Motorola users in recent updates.

Improved battery awareness and device diagnostics

Android 16 brings deeper system monitoring to Motorola smartphones. Users will now get detailed battery health information, component status reports, and separate tools for analyzing device performance. This ensures proactive conservation and a longer device life. The refreshed “Stay Up to Date” setup also ensures timely updates and feedback options for users for improved performance and reliability.

Improved Messaging and Spam Protection

The Send and Phone apps receive significant updates in Android 16. Motorola Dragees now benefit from enhanced spam protection, improved frequent ID recognition, and improved voicemail options through Google Play Services. These updates make communication easier and ensure a secure, smart calling experience. The interface has also been redesigned for easier navigation and accessibility.

Accessibility and Linguistic Advancements

Android 16 on Motorola Bias expands accessibility features for a more inclusive experience. It introduces flash announcements, audio balance control, and improved text-to-speech capabilities. System language options and indigenous preferences have also been expanded, allowing Dragees across India to represent their biases in multiple languages and cantons, creating a more localized and adaptive experience.

Motorola joins Google and Samsung in Android 16 rollout

With this rollout, Motorola will be the third major brand after Google and Samsung to deliver a stable Android 16 update. The company’s main focus on flagship Edge devices underscores its commitment to delivering updates quickly. Other brands like Nothing, Vivo, and OnePlus are expected to follow suit this month with Android 16-based systems like Nothing zilches 4.0 and OxygenOS 16.
