“ Do the SIR Work duly or Face Consequences ” BJP State President Shamik Bhattacharya Warns Party Workers as Political Heat Rises in Bengal
Kolkata: With the West Bengal Assembly elections just a time down, the Special Intensive Revision( SIR) of the name list has become a hot political issue. The Election Commission has formally begun investigations, and the BJP has ramped up internal exertion to ensure delicacy in name records.
BJP State President Shamik Bhattacharya has issued a stern warning to party workers, instructing them to ensure that the SIR process is done duly. Across the state, BJP leaders are travelling in cell-position units, explaining how to precisely check and corroborate name lists. Booth Level Agents( BLA- 2) are witnessing ferocious training to identify irregularities similar as abnormal namer growth.
According to sources, in a recent party meeting on namer lists, Bhattacharya easily told workers, “ If the SIR task is n’t done rightly, the party will face serious consequences in the future. ” The SIR work involves reviewing namer lists to identify who should remain and who has been wrongfully included.
Bhattacharya was quoted as saying, “ This can not be treated as just another routine task. Negligence in SIR means a collapse in the 2026 election. However, Trinamool wo n’t just take your votes — they’ll take your party office too, If that happens. ” He further advised against complacency, saying, “ You ca n’t sit in air-conditioned apartments and suppose about this. When the time comes, indeed a virtual meeting will see no attendance. ”
The BJP alleges that the number of choosers has risen abnormally in 258 out of 294 constituencies. For illustration, Rajarhat – New Town has seen a nearly 74% increase in choosers. Bangladeshi infiltrators are reported in Baruipur East, Sonarpur North, and Canning East.
The party suspects that this sharp rise is n’t natural, claiming that Bangladeshi informers and Rohingyas have been settled by the Trinamool Congress in border and suburban areas, causing these jumps.
Trinamool, in response, counters this allegation by saying that “ New Town has seen a construction with thousands of new apartments, bringing in new residers — hence the namer increase. ” still, the BJP insists, “ Indeed with people moving into new structures, a 74% jump in choosers is largely abnormal. ”
Interestingly, in three Kolkata constituencies Bhabanipur( the Chief Minister’s seat), Rashbehari, and Jorasanko — the number of choosers has actually gone down.
The BJP maintains that if the namer list itself is inaccurate, the foundation of the popular process becomes unstable. The party has therefore decided to take the SIR process with utmost soberness, viewing it as pivotal root for the forthcoming assembly pates.
