The Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana supports artisans in various craft fields
The Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana was established to aid artisans working in different fields of craft. This project will benefit every citizen who engages in traditional arts and crafts. The day of Vishwakarma Puja saw the nationwide launch of the Vishwakarma Yojana. This project is not only related to diverse handicrafts but is also intended for working backward people.
Washermen, barbers, goldsmiths, and many more people will profit from this plan in the near future. Its major goal is to support the nation’s diverse artists and craftspeople. This initiative was announced by the prime minister during his Independence Day speech. On the occasion of his birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled extraordinary initiatives for the nation. The prime minister gave an explanation, citing national employees around the world.
This initiative will be beneficial to all craftspeople engaged in large- and small-scale construction. The birthday of Prime Minister Modi is September 17. Every year, this day is dedicated to Vishwakarma Puja. But this year, the time has shifted. The puja for this period is on Monday, September 18, according to the Bengali calendar. But in his speech, Modi noted that Sunday is Vishwakarma Jayanti.
Prime Minister launched Vishwakarma Yojana
He even offered prayers at the Vishwakarma idol at the Yashbhumi Convention Center, which he opened on Sunday in New Delhi. There, the PM also introduced the Vishwakarma Yojana. For those technical experts who are proud of their Indian ancestry, there is the Vishwakarma plan. For this project, the Center has allotted 13000 crores of rupees. The Center estimates that this program will benefit nearly 30 lakh families from 164 backward and underprivileged communities.
Vishwakarmas will receive the PM Vishwakarma certificate
Indians who are artists or artisans must be the program’s recipients. In this project, PM Vishwakarma portal will be free of charge connected to Vishwakarma or traditional artisans of the nation. This gateway is protected by biometrics. A Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma certificate will be issued to these Vishwakarmas. Additionally, a unique identity card will be provided. In order to improve their talents, they will also have the option to enroll in two other types of training.
Advanced and Basic. The artisans will receive 500 while they are receiving instruction. Everybody would receive incentives worth Rs 15,000 for purchasing updated equipment. There will also be a mechanism to grant a loan of 3 lakh rupees in addition to this. in exchange for just 5% interest. After making a payment of Rs. 1 lakh in the first phase, Rs. 2 lakh will be given at the same interest rate in the second phase.
In this project, PM Vishwakarma portal will be free of charge connected to Vishwakarma or traditional artisans of the nation. This chance is available to artisans in 18 different fields across the nation. Modi also unveiled postage stamps featuring these 18 technological sectors on his birthday, which was on Sunday.
Masons, carpenters, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, sculptors, makers of small tools like hammers and chisels, locksmiths, shoemakers or cobblers, weavers of baskets, mats, and pups, traditional doll and toy makers, washermen, barbers, tailors, fish net makers, garland makers, and stone cutters are some of them. A loan of up to 2 lakh will be granted after an initial loan of 1 lakh.
The first tranche will have an 18-month term, while the second tranche will have a 30-month repayment time. The’skill development’ of these artists will be trained. At that time, a daily allowance of 500 taka and a monthly allowance of 15,000 taka will be provided for shopping. Identity cards will also be supplied to them. The current year’s budget for this project was mentioned by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Vishwakarma Yojana not available if already benefited from PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, or Mudra Loan
18 such professions will provide this advantage to their members. The benefit’s recipients must be older than 18 years old. However, the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana will not be available to individuals who have already benefited from PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, or Mudra Loan. To join this program, please submit an application. Apply at the Common Service Center using the PM Vishwakarma Portal.
Along with the application, you must send your Aadhaar card, voter card, profession proof, mobile number, bank account details, income certificate, and caste certificate. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the inauguration of the $13 trillion Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana (PMVY) on Sunday, aimed at providing artisans and craftspeople with technology access that will assist them in enhancing their skills for the contemporary job market.
